Axiology (from Greek ἀξίᾱ, axiā, "value, worth"; and -λογία, -logia) is the study of quality or value. It is often taken to include ethics and aesthetics[1] — philosophical fields that depend crucially on notions of value — and sometimes it is held to lay the groundwork for these fields, and thus to be similar to value theory and meta-ethics. The term was first used in the early 20th century by Paul Lapie, in 1902, and E. von Hartmann, in 1908.[2]

One area in which research continues to be pursued is so-called formal axiology, or the attempt to lay out principles regarding value with mathematical rigor.

Dr. Robert S. Hartman has developed a mathematically based and scientifically validated assessment using axiology. His assessment and the licensing of it are maintained by the Hartman Institute.[3]

The term is also used sometimes in regards to economic value.

A. Please find another way to begin your sentances with a word other than 'she'... once awhile is ok but try to be more creative. The young lady, the young woman, her name, the dark-haired maiden... etc. There are free tips for writers (esp in this genre) on the website below. Just scroll down for advice blogs. You may wish to speak from a foreigner's point of view, if you cannot mananger to get into the groove of a local character. Lastly, less telling, more showing... show us what she did by what she does, ratehr than the narrarator telling us. It si more difficult… [cont.]
